TUF 23 Finale post-fight facts: Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Will Brooks continue surging

The UFC strawweight title remained firmly in the hands of Poland’s finest at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. In Friday’s FOX Sports 1-televised headliner at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Joanna Jedrzejczyk retained the 115-pound title by beating rival Claudia Gadelha once again.

Jedrzejczyk (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) rallied from an early deficit to defeat Gadelha (13-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in a rematch. She topped the Brazilian challenger via unanimous decision after five action-filled rounds.

Although Jedrzejczyk’s title defense was the highlight of the second of three UFC events on International Fight Week, the card featured other notable results. Check below for 45 post-fight facts to come out of the TUF 23 Finale.

Ross Pearson (19-11 MMA, 11-8 UFC) has alternated wins and losses over his past nine UFC appearances.

Pearson fell to 6-5 with one no-contest since he returned to the UFC lightweight division in December 2012.

 

Choi (14-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) extended his career-high winning streak to 12 consecutive fights. He hasn’t suffered a defeat since June 2010.

Cezar Ferreira (10-5 MMA, 6-3 UFC) improved to 2-0 since he returned to the UFC middleweight division in April.

Ferreira has earned five of his six UFC victories by decision.

Anthony Smith (24-12 MMA, 1-2 UFC) fell to 1-1 since he returned to the UFC for a second stint in February.

Smith suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Kevin Lee (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) earned the first knockout victory of his career.

Jake Matthews (10-2 MMA, 4-2 UFC) suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

Jingliang has earned both of his UFC stoppage victories by knockout.

Anton Zafir (7-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered back-to-back losses for the first time in his career.

Zafir has suffered all three of his career losses by knockout.
