The second of a pair of UFC events today sees the promotion back in Brazil for UFC Fight Night 100.
UFC Fight Night 100 takes place at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo. It airs on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
In the main event, Ryan Bader (21-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) meets home-country fan favorite Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (22-7 MMA, 5-4 UFC) in a light heavyweight rematch more than six years in the making. At UFC 119 in September 2010, Bader took a unanimous decision from Nogueira in Indianapolis. Now he’ll try to make it two for two – but on Nogueira’s turf.
Bader is more than a 3-1 favorite in the fight, and our MMAjunkie editors, writers and radio hosts are backing him unanimously at a 10-0 clip.
And Bader isn’t the only unanimous pick on the card. In fact, the top three fights on the bill all are getting the 10-0 treatment from our crew. In the bantamweight co-feature, Brazil’s Thomas Almeida (20-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) tries to get back in the win column after the first loss of his career when he meets Albert Morales (6-0-1 MMA, 0-0-1 UFC). Almeida is a 10-0 pick. So is Brazil’s Claudia Gadelha (13-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC), who is a heavy favorite against Cortney Casey (6-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC) in their women’s strawweight fight.
But things aren’t as clear cut in the other three fights to open the main card. Brazil’s Thales Leites (26-6 MMA, 11-4 UFC) is a 6-4 pick over Krzysztof Jotko (18-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) in their middleweight bout. The Warlley Alves (10-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) vs. Kamaru Usman (8-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) welterweight fight is split right down the middle at 5-5. And Sergio Moraes (10-2-1 MMA, 4-1-1 UFC) is a 7-3 pick over Zak Ottow (14-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in their welterweight scrap.
