Light heavyweight Antonio Rogerio Nogueira hoped to avenge a loss to Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night 100, but he’s instead looking at a 45-day suspension after a TKO loss.
Bader landed dozens of elbows and punches to the downed former PRIDE star until a flurry of shots forced an intervention in the third round.
The Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA, or CABMMA, today released medical suspensions stemming from this past Saturday’s event at Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo. It aired on FS1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
All fighters on the card received a mandatory 14 day suspension with 7 days no contact, but Nogueira is among four who were given 45-day terms: Albert Morales, Manny Gamburyan and Francimar Barroso after they respectively suffered TKO losses.
Gamburyan, a finalist on “The Ultimate Fighter 5,” retired in the cage after his loss to Johnny Eduardo.
The list did not provide details about the nature of fighters’ injuries.
CABMMA regulates all UFC events that take place in Brazil. The promotion is planning to hold three events in the country next year.
